FMC Ice Sports in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Facility Supervisor to oversee on-site staff and icy arenas during the peak public season. The role ensures clean, safe facilities, operates the ice resurfacer, and manages required logs and daily maintenance while the arena is open.

You will supervise Facility Operators and Support Staff, coordinate scheduling and payroll with the General/Arena Manager, and uphold outstanding customer service for patrons.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ and have a valid Driver's License.
• 1 year work experience in an ice arena or similar organization; some exposure to operations and maintenance.
• Experience driving an ice resurfacer preferred; willing to train.
• Must be a self-starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with diverse individuals and groups.
• Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.

Description

Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice-skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long-term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for on-site supervision of staff and facilities to ensure that clean, safe and healthy facilities are available. Routine maintenance and janitorial functions of the facility while it is open to the public, is required. Responsible for driving/operating ice resurfacer. Reporting to the General Manager or Arena Manager, this position will work alone and with other positions as required by the facility activities schedule. Work schedule will include nights, weekends and some holidays as necessary to meet the needs of our patrons and to complete job responsibilities.

Requirements

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED.


• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Driver's License.


• One (1) year work experience in an ice arena or similar organization, with some exposure to the operations and maintenance functions, knowledge of equipment preferred, but not required.


• Experience driving an ice resurfacer operation preferred, but willing to train.


• Must be a self-starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems with minimal supervision.


• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a variety of individuals and groups, interested in recreational matters, representing different interests.


• Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.

Full-time seasonal (August - April) position.

Benefits:

Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401K and earned time after eligibility period is met.

Compensation:

Base pay range: $24 - $28 per hour.

*Eligible for annual increase of 2% - 4% based upon performance. Eligible for year-end discretionary bonus. Individual compensation packages are based upon various factors unique to each candidate. *
