What You Will Be Doing - Core Responsibilities

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a Houston-based chemical manufacturing facility specializing in metalworking fluids and broader chemical manufacturing. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution across production, filling, and shipping & receiving functions, while maintaining facility readiness, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.

Facility & Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operations across production, filling, and shipping & receiving departments.
  • Ensure production schedules align with customer demand, labor availability, and equipment capacity.
  • Coordinate material flow from raw materials through finished goods storage and shipment.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs related to safety, throughput, quality, inventory accuracy, and downtime.
  • Support scale-up of new formulations, packaging formats, and chemical manufacturing processes.
Production & Filling Oversight
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of blending, batching, filling, and packaging equipment.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures for chemical handling, filling, labeling, and quality checks.
  • Coordinate lot control, batch documentation, and production records in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Partner with quality, R&D, and supply chain teams on new product introductions and process improvements.
Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Control
  • Oversee inbound raw materials, packaging components, and outbound finished goods shipments.
  • Ensure proper storage, segregation, and labeling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, staging, and traffic flow to maximize safety and efficiency.
Facilities, Equipment & Maintenance
  • Ensure readiness and reliability of production equipment, tanks, pumps, filling lines, forklifts, utilities, and building systems.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support facility upgrades, capital projects, and layout changes tied to growth or regulatory requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, uptime, and operational efficiency.
Safety, Compliance & Leadership
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Supervise, train, and develop production, filling, and logistics personnel.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on workforce planning, training, and performance management.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, or related field a plus.
  • 5+ years of facility or operations management experience in chemical manufacturing or industrial production.
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical handling, batch manufacturing, and regulated environments.
  • Experience overseeing production, filling/packaging, and warehouse teams.
  • Proven leadership in safety management and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and operational reporting tools.
