Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking a Facility Specialist for the Casa Grande, AZ area. On-site duties include managing hazardous waste programs, regulatory compliance, and coordination of shipments and safety training.

You will work with facility management to ensure DOT, RCRA, and EPA standards are met, while contributing to laboratory operations and daily plant activities. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires lifting up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Environmental Science or related field, or 2+ years industry experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Strong communication, problem solving and relationship-building skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Job description

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Facility Specialist for our Casa Grande, AZ team.

As a Facility Chemist, you will manage hazardous and chemical waste programs on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key responsibilities include waste characterization, consolidation, packing, shipping, and training on chemical safety and waste management. Your role will require strong attention to detail and effective collaboration with facility management on tasks such as RCRA and DOT compliance, technical services, transportation, and waste disposal coordination. This position offers hands-on experience across various waste management areas.

This position reports toPlant Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Casa Grande, AZ.

• Develop the knowledge and experience to manage a permitted facility
• Understand facility permit and local governing agency expectations for waste management
• Assist with general facility compliance including performing daily/weekly/monthly compliance checks, training, SOP implementation/review, and process review
• Assist with general facility operations including serving as management if the Plant Manager is not available
• Consolidate waste according to permits, disposal facility requirements, and customer preferences
• Build loads for outbound transportation
• Assist with waste determinations/profile management and laboratory operations
• Coordinate outbound shipments- setting up deliveries, scheduling transporters, etc.
• Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations, Triumvirate’s Health and Safety Practices, and EPA regulations
• Demonstrate your supervisory leadership abilities through interaction with coworkers
• Work towards becoming familiar with technical, customer service, and business components of environmental services
• Work with computerized waste tracking systems
• Upon completion of emergency response (ER) training, you will be part of an in-house ER team
• This position also includes the daily need to lift items that weigh up to 75 pounds
• This is a safety sensitive position

Basic Requirements

• BS/BA in Environmental Science or Business-related degree required OR 2+ years of industry, or relative Military experience
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively interact with a broad range of personnel preferred
• Personality conducive to teamwork
• Strong communication, problem solving, and relationship building skills preferred
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
• Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
• Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
• The Facility Specialist frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

• Prior knowledge, experience, and compliance with DOT, RCRA, and other applicable regulations
