Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Facility Security Officer to lead our industrial security program, ensuring compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, and DoD/customer security requirements.

You'll partner closely with the Head of Facilities, IT Security & Compliance Lead, and government security stakeholders to safeguard classified information across multiple sensitivity levels and build a strong security culture as K2 scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• 10+ years as a Facility Security Officer or Security Manager supporting DoD/IC programs.
• Strong command of NISPOM and DoD security protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Submit and maintain FCL sponsorships; ensure ongoing FOCI compliance.
• Keep lines informed of security requirements; update SF312s with Legal for records.
• Develop and deliver security training (SCG, CUI, OPSEC) with SETA; manage NISS.
• Provide security input for RFPs, BAAs, and related proposal documentation.
• Review PWS/SOWs and generate DD Form 254s with flow-down security requirements.
• Conduct security briefings and annual refresher training; handle event-driven sessions.
• Investigate suspected security infractions and recommend corrective action.
• Own lifecycle of classified information — safeguarding, tracking, storage, destruction, secure transmission.
• Prepare and maintain Program Protection Plans, Security Classification Guides, Transportation Security Plans.
• Support ISSM/ISSO with classified information systems maintenance and monitoring.
• Respond to after-hours alarms and security incidents; report to Director of Security.
