Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) seeks a Facility Security Officer to enforce DOE facility security requirements and safeguard personnel, visitors, and assets at the Euclid, Ohio site.

You will coordinate with law enforcement, conduct inspections, and manage access controls. The role emphasizes policy development, training, and incident reporting, with duties including DOE clearance processing and maintaining security records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of security or access control experience, preferably with a customer-service focus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse backgrounds.
• Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the facility and enforce security protocols.
• Conduct regular security patrols of the premises and identify hazards.
• Maintain visitor logs and ensure access credentials are valid.
• Investigate security incidents and document findings for management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain facility security policies and procedures.
• Review and update security systems to enhance protection.
• Provide security awareness training to employees and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when needed.
• Maintain security records and reports per policies.
• Assist with site access control system operations and access requests.
• Coordinate with contract guards providing 24/7 on-site security.
• Process DOE security clearances and maintain detailed records.
