Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Facility Planner in Portland, Maine who will lead space planning and analysis for healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or five years of related experience. This role involves improving facility utilization and conducting feasibility studies. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or five years of experience in healthcare planning required.
  • Preferred knowledge in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tactical space planning and execution for facility improvements.
  • Develop planning and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct analysis for short- and long-range space utilization.

Skills

Knowledge and experience with AIA contracts
Knowledge of International Building Codes
Knowledge of HVAC systems
Knowledge of ADA and Joint Commission

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field

Job description

Overview

The Facility Planner role performs tactical space planning and execution for highest and best use scenarios, develops planning and feasibility studies, conducts analysis for short- and long-range space utilization and analyses of existing space use, and develops options for facility improvements and renovations.

Qualifications
  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field or five years of experience in healthcare planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance required.
  2. Experience: See Education
  3. Additional Skills/Requirements: Preferred: Knowledge and experience with AIA contracts, forms, and procedures. Knowledge and experience with FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities, International Building Codes, Life Safety Code, ADA, Joint Commission, Hazardous Material Abatement, electrical, mechanical/plumbing and building maintenance, HVAC systems and energy conservation.
