Tufts Medicine in Boston, MA is seeking a skilled painter to perform preparation and finishing on walls, ceilings, woodwork and furniture, and to move materials to job sites. You will share responsibility for maintaining clean, safe work areas and delivering paints and supplies from shop to site.

The role requires a high school diploma and about one year of painting experience, with more experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of painting experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepares surfaces to be painted by washing, scraping, patching and sanding as necessary.
• Tapes and finishes joints of drywall and applies joint compound.
• Moves furniture such as desks, file cabinets, tables, beds and other items as required to perform work.
• Applies prime and finish coats of paint and stain to surfaces.
• Delivers paint and materials from shop to work site and returns same at the end of the day.
• Protects adjacent areas and equipment with drop cloths or masking tape and paper.
• Paint, stain, shellac or varnish woodwork, walls, ceilings, furniture and other items of wood or metal according to specific requirements.
• Make applications by brush, roller or spray gun.
• Work from ladders or scaffolds as necessary.
• Maintain necessary records. Move materials and supplies as necessary in performance of duties. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervisor.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules regulations.
