Job summary

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions in Memphis, TN is seeking a full-time Facility Operator to join a tight-knit team that produces high-quality asphalt binder. Operators work in the tank farm, load/unload trucks and railcars, and ensure product quality while maintaining strong teamwork outdoors in varying weather.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic math, Excel proficiency, ability to lift 50 pounds, read and follow instructions, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in Excel preferred.
• Ability to work without supervision and follow written instructions.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Willingness to learn computer skills and use PPE.
• Outdoor work in all seasons and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Input quality specifications and batch data into reports.
• Sample product quality.
• Load and unload trucks and railcars.
• Conduct minor maintenance on plant equipment (pumps, rack, mixers).
• Attend daily productive/quality/EHS meetings.
• Use proactive safety tools (checklists).
• Maintain facility housekeeping and stay current on training.
• Wear provided PPE (hard hat, face shield, boots, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with operators, management, trucking, and customers.
