Job summary

Pilot Water Solutions seeks a night or day shift Facility Operator to monitor, inspect, and ensure safety and operational excellence of disposals within the Permian/Delaware Basins, with assignments proximate to Wink, TX and surrounding towns.

The role requires operating SCADA, performing maintenance, logging activities, and conducting safety analyses. You’ll coordinate with the Day Crew and Control Room to maintain continuous operations and respond to field events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Oil and gas industry experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability to operate a company vehicle.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Able to communicate respectfully and professionally across all levels.
• Punctual, reliable with good attendance.
• Willingness to work night shifts and rotate; on-call as needed.
• Preferred: 3 years in oil and gas; experience overseeing contract workers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the site’s automation system (SCADA) to monitor and control system pressures, flow rates, and overall process operations.
• Perform equipment maintenance and repairs (e.g., leaking fittings, valves, hoses).
• Log documentation electronically as instructed.
• Conduct walk-through inspections to identify leaks, safety hazards, and operational concerns.
• Complete a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) each shift/daily.
• Support monthly KPI requirements, including safety observations and truck inspections.
• Remain in the field during major events until relieved by Day Crew; ensure continuity of operations.
• Report equipment issues to appropriate personnel for repair.
• Maintain clean facilities and trucks; perform basic housekeeping.
• Communicate updates to Control Room and Day Lead; participate in field emergencies as needed.

Assigned area for the qualified candidates will be based on commuting distance proximal to Wink, TX, Kermit, TX, Monahans, TX, Pecos, TX, Midland, TX, Odessa, TX and Hobbs, New Mexico.

• Operates the site’s automation system (SCADA) to monitor and control system pressures, flow rates, and overall process operations.
• Performs equipment maintenance and repairs including but not limited to changing out leaking fittings, valves, repairing hoses, etc.
• Logs documentation electronically as instructed.
• Treats customers respectfully and acts in a cordial and professional manner at all times.
• Conducts proper walk-through inspections of all locations to identify leaks, safety hazards, and other operational concerns.
• Completes a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) each shift/daily.
• Fulfills monthly KPA requirements, including good quality safety observations and truck inspections.
• Remains in the field during major operational events until properly relieved by a Day Crew member, ensuring continuity of operations and effective communication during shift turnover.
• Checks equipment to mitigate potential problems or safety issues and reports to appropriate personnel for repair(s)
• Maintains safe, clean facilities and trucks by performing basic housekeeping duties and processes.
• Cleans area debris, remove plants, pressure wash etc.
• Required to be on call from time to time or as scheduled by the Field Supervisor
• Complies with all Company policies and procedures; adheres and is compliant to safety and environmental guidelines.
• Submits own timesheets timely and accurately for approval and adheres to schedule as agreed upon on the date of hire, and adjusted work schedules thereafter based on company needs.
• Maintains clear and consistent communication with the day crew and producers, promptly reporting concerns or issues to day operators and supervisors via phone calls or messages.
• Communicates all relevant operational updates, issues, and field observations to the Control Room to ensure accurate and timely inclusion in the "Morning Update" email.
• Responds promptly to requests from the Control Room or Midstream Day Lead, including using GPS pin drops to locate and inspect risers or perform manual valve adjustments (pinch backs) as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or comparable such as GED
• Oil and gas industry experience.
• Familiar with standard concepts and procedures as it relates to the role and industry.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be deemed insurable by the Company's insurance provider throughout employment to be able to drive a Company vehicle,
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and strong time-management skills
• Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally across all levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
• Able to be punctual, reliable and dependable; good attendance record.
• Able to work night shifts, and rotate as needed.
• Able to be on call as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years required in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience overseeing contract workers.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be able to use their hands to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and fine manipulation.
• Must be able to talk and hear.
• Must be able to drive and sit for extended periods of time.
• Individual will be required to be on call at times to attend field emergencies as needed after hours.
• Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, climb stairs and lift over 50lbs for continuous hours.
• Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme hot, extreme cold, wind, rain, hail, dust, snow, sleet, ice, etc. as well as wet/humid and/or dry/arid conditions.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
• May be exposed to H2S and other industry related chemicals.
• May be subject to working in low-lit areas from time to time.
• May be exposed to loud noises, occupational hazards, and/or other outdoor elements.
• May encounter wildlife.
