Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a hands-on Data Center Operations professional to own on-site critical infrastructure and lead end-to-end operations. You will manage escalations, maintenance risks, and drive reliability across the site with internal and partner teams.

You will act as a first responder for incidents, apply rigorous change management, and contribute to the evolution of our data-center operating model as we scale hyperscale capacity.

Qualifications

• Experience operating or leading data‑center critical infrastructure in live environments.
• Authority to manage the critical-infrastructure stack on site (power/cooling).
• Experience running change management for high‑risk work.
• Calm, capable first responder for incidents at odd hours.
• Ability to audit, document, and improve the site's operating posture.
• Bonus: hyperscale or colocation ops familiarity with related standards.

The Data Center Operations Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

• Operate at the scale of a nation, not a building. Accelerating toward 10s to 100s of GWs by the end of the decade, more than the entire electricity consumption of many countries. You won't just run a data center; you'll run infrastructure the size of a G7.
• Fly the plane while it's being built. Running flawless operations inside a live construction zone, adapting in real time and turning the pace of build-out into our advantage. You will redefine operational excellence.
• Write the playbook, don't inherit it. Most operators step into someone else's system. Here you build one, leaving your fingerprints on how the whole company runs. As we scale 100x, you'll set the standards, shape the operating model, and grow the team by the thousands.

Role Scope

• Serve as the on-site SME for data center critical infrastructure, handling escalations across the white space and the supporting facilities.
• Understand and manage the design limitations and risks of the site, and audit colocation partners and service providers on their maintenance programs and effectiveness.
• Own the change management process for high-risk maintenance activities in the data center.
• Act as first responder on-site for incidents, driving resolution with support from engineering and infrastructure SMEs.
• Partner with colo partners, vendors, and internal teams to keep the site reliable, and feed operational learnings back into design and process.

What We're Looking For

• You've operated or led critical-facilities operations in a live data center, owning the physical infrastructure that keeps a site running.
• You know the critical-infrastructure stack (power and cooling) well enough to be the on-site authority and handle escalations.
• You run change management for high-risk work and hold partners to a real maintenance standard.
• You're a calm, capable first responder when something fails at 3am.
• You audit, document, and improve, leaving the site's operating posture stronger than you found it.
• Bonus: Hyperscale or colocation operations. Uptime Institute or NFPA familiarity. Critical environment and MOP/EOP experience. Vendor and colo management.
