Job summary

HEARTLAND CO-OP in Jewell Junction, IA is seeking a Warehouse/Grain Handler to unload, store and manage grain at the location, ensuring quality during storage and preparing shipments.

You will monitor bins, maintain equipment, assist with inventory records, and support location operations during slower times. The role exposes you to outdoor weather and heavy lifting, requiring safety awareness and dependability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Unloads, cleans, stores, and maintains grain received at the location.
• Moves grain within location, cleans and inspects bins, and loads grain for shipment.
• Maintains warehouse, location grounds and equipment to acceptable company standards.
• Assists with inventory records and other maintenance and housekeeping logs.
• Assists in monitoring temperature cables, bunkers, and other storage-related duties to ensure grain quality.
• Supports management with additional duties during slow periods.

Summary:Receives, stores, cares for and distributes grain and other products within the company by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Unloads, cleans, stores, and maintains grain received at the location. Ensures grain quality is maintained during storage process.Moves grain within location, cleans and inspects bins, and loads grain for shipment.Maintains warehouse, location grounds and equipment to acceptable company standards.Assists with other location functions as needed during “slow” times.Assists in maintaining inventory records, as well as other maintenance and housekeeping records in appropriate log books.Assists in monitoring temperature cables, walking flats, tracking fan usage, monitoring bunker storage, monitoring grain dryer output and other location specific duties to ensure exceptional grain inventory quality.Other duties as assigned by management.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
