US Western Area Power Administration is seeking a Facility Operations Specialist with responsibilities spanning facilities and operations management, COOP, FEMP program support, and COR duties. This position is part of the Western Power Administration (WAPA). As a Facility Operations Specialist, with responsibilities in the areas of Facilities and Operations Management, Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), Performance Work Statement (PWS) development and Contract Officer Representative (COR) duties and analysis work in all areas of Facilities Maintenance.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Working Conditions: The work is mainly sedentary, but may require walking, carrying of light items such as briefcases, notebooks, work papers, and/or drive a motor vehicle. Work does involve entering confined spaces where individual must navigate around moving equipment and maintain balance. May be exposed to high noise from equipment, dust, high heat or extreme cold while inspecting and investigating equipment or building problems. The incumbent must wear Arc Rated protective clothing when in proximity to exposed energized circuits.
Physical Effort: Work is usually performed in an office setting that is adequately lighted, ventilated, and climate controlled. The work involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Work will include visiting construction sites and maintenance mechanical rooms with proper PPE for hearing protection, safety shoe and hard hats.
