The Data Center Infrastructure Operations organization seeks a Facility Operations Center Engineer to support 24/7 monitoring of the data center’s physical infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring a consistent, reliable customer experience by responding effectively to critical alarms, monitoring infrastructure, and performing change management tasks.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Possess an intermediate level understanding of critical infrastructure.
• Maintain proficient computer and communication skills.
• Work required shift-work, overtime, and/or rotating schedules to support a 24X7 environment.

A day in the life

The ADC Facility Operations Center serves as the centralized 24/7 remote monitoring hub for AWS data center critical physical infrastructure systems. It supports availability by communicating prompt and accurate alarm and event notifications to internal teams, enforces change-management policies, and acts as the communication hub during emergency and normal operations.

About the Team

The FOC supports Data Center Engineer Operations teams by proactively monitoring life-safety systems and infrastructure alarms such as chillers, temperature sensors, generators, UPSs, switchgear, breakers, PDUs, and ATSs to ensure continuous power and cooling. It is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, the organization that designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical support experience, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience documenting technical customer issues and 1+ year of customer-facing IT role or physical security systems/infrastructure work experience.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which you perform AWS work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• 3+ years of customer service experience.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
