Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination as Level 03.
• Associate degree with 6 years specialized experience equivalent to Level 03.
• High School or GED with 8 years of specialized experience equivalent to Level 03.
• When a bachelor’s degree is used, at least 12 semester hours in business administration and/or building systems related courses are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a maintenance program for facilities, including preventive maintenance planning.
• Oversee surveillance of construction and maintenance work by private contractors, review plans, and ensure conformance.
• Perform maintenance/construction tasks with cost estimation and coordination with funding organizations.

Associate degree or 60 college hours (Related Field) + 6 years specialized experience

High School or GED + 8 years specialized experience

12 sem. hours in business admin/related building systems courses (when bachelor’s degree used)

Education

• Education: Bachelor's degree (Related Field) Experience: 1 year of related experience equivalent to Level 03.
• OR
• Education: Associate degree or 60-college semester hours (related field) Experience: 6 years specialized experience equivalent to Level 03
• OR
• Education: High School or GED diploma Experience: 8 years of specialized experience equivalent to Level 03.
• A minimum of 12 semester hours in business administration and/or in any technology/engineering courses related to building systems such as electrical, mechanical, civil, civil, safety, real estate, interior and architecture design or equivalent courses are required when a bachelor's degree is used as qualification.
• Qualifying Related Experience used in combination with the bachelor’s degree should be in administration, engineering, building technology or other professional level experience related to the position.

Specialized Experience

• (1) Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other installations, including maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs.
• (2) Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans.
• (3) Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of facility management projects, directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organizations funding the project.

Physical Requirement

• Good distant vision and ability to read printed material the size of typewritten characters.
• Ability to hear the conversational voice with/without a hearing aid.
• Must have mental and emotional stability.
