Facility Manager – Glendale, AZ
The Facility Manager coordinates and supervises the 24/7 operations of one or more buildings. The FM oversees day‑to‑day operations ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. This role manages facility operations, maintains equipment and systems, and ensures high service levels for multiple customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of facility technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure conformance with all change control development, approvals, and execution.
- Assist in hiring, training, and managing operations personnel on site.
- Lead company culture via mentoring in career and personal development.
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations to ensure efficient and effective performance.
- Support scheduling, development, and execution for preventive, contracted, and general maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Conduct safety inspections and manage emergency response procedures.
- Review and approve change requests, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
- Maintain accurate records of facility operations, maintenance activities, and customer interactions.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on facility performance metrics.
- Continuously evaluate building systems for efficiency.
- Enforce safe work responsibilities and safety procedures for employees and contractors.
- Evaluate, assign, and monitor maintenance and incident handling for critical facilities staff and contractors.
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers, addressing concerns promptly and maintaining relationships.
- Partner with internal departments to support sales tours, fit‑outs, events, sustainability & safety initiatives, capital projects, and audits.
- Assist in developing, managing, and forecasting OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Respond to site escalations in emergency situations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agencies, and directives related to building operations.
- Serve as primary technical resource for building specifics and Aligned product infrastructure.
- Evaluate Aligned’s processes to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage a team including Lead Critical Facility Technicians, Critical Facility Technicians, and Facility Technicians.
- Oversee hiring, time and attendance, performance, and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of increasing responsibility and oversight of building systems and critical facilities equipment.
- Professional licenses strongly preferred (electrical and mechanical).
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents (AutoCAD, Visio, PDF).
- Effective project management skills.
- Develop installation standards and project tracking/management documents.
- Strong communication skills for verbal and written responses to complex inquiries or complaints.
- High commitment to customer service.
- Knowledge of applicable rules, laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances for data/communications and MEP projects.
- Ability to estimate cost of client installations and track project costs.
- Knowledge of purchase order request processes and invoice tracking.
- Problem‑solving skills with limited information.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, openness to new ideas.
- Proficiency in MSOffice (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Occasional travel for training or business requests may be required.
