Job summary

NHRA seeks a Facility Manager to oversee the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park maintenance, landscaping, and asset upkeep for events and daily operations.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will hire and supervise seasonal staff, manage budgets, coordinate repairs, and uphold NHRA standards of service and security at this premier drag racing venue.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-high school education required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing facility operations and staffing.
  • 2+ years of supervising staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Must have prior experience working with department budgets.
  • Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with vendors and all levels of management both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, schedule, and supervise seasonal and event employees, focused on facility events and maintenance operations.
  • Make recommendations for budgeting, improvements, tracking, and program implementations.
  • Implement and execute maintenance schedules for the facility and equipment.
  • Supervise event preparation and clean-up activities.
  • Ensure safety standards are developed, met, and maintained at the facility.
  • Maintain a manicured facility and secure the property.
  • Oversee facility preparation responsibilities for events and NHRA learnings.

NHRA continues to race forward with a number of key initiatives, including a multiyear partnership with FOX Sports to televise NHRA events from the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and the Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. FOX Sports networks aired more than 500 hours of programming throughout the year, highlighted by 20+ race-day shows, including eight on FOX’s national network, in addition to qualifying broadcasts throughout the weekend. Position Summary

The Facility Manager reports to the General Manager and works alongside the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (LOIRP) Management and Operations staff. The Facility Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park facility. This includes, but is not limited to, property landscaping, building maintenance, and asset management and maintenance.

Location: Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Indianapolis, IN

FLSA/Salary: Exempt

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Hire, schedule, and supervise seasonal and event employees, focused on facility events and maintenance operations.
  • Makes recommendations for developing, budgeting, and implementing physical improvements/repairs, capital purchases, track rentals, racing, and promotional programs.
  • Implement and execute maintenance schedules for the facility and equipment.
  • Supervises and coordinates all activity relating to event preparation and clean-up.
  • Ensures the ambitious standards of worker safety are developed, met, and maintained at the facility.
  • Always ensures the maintenance of a manicured facility.
  • Responsible for securing the property
  • Ensures that Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park continues to maintain a positive image in the racing community.
  • Greet and assist all guests at the track, giving great service and going the extra mile every time.
  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in all work
  • Responsible for helping oversee all facility preparation responsibilities from organizing, executing, and maintaining.
  • May attend and participate in other NHRA event preparation and learnings.

Minimum Skills And Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-high school education (college, technical school, vocational training) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing facility operations and staffing.
  • 2+ years of supervising staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Must have prior experience working with department budgets.
  • Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Must maintain a high quality in all work including accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with vendors and all levels of management both in writing and verbally.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer as needed.
  • Ability to talk on the phone as needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, run, climb stairs as required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors sometimes in extreme temperatures for 12-14 hours as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy.
  • Must be flexible with meal and rest periods.
