Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will work with fellow technicians to maintain and improve facilities across sites, using a range of tools and safe practices. The role emphasizes hands-on learning and quick adaptation to project needs.

The position requires experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping, plus a valid driver's license. DOT certification can be sponsored. 18+ years old.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping.
• Valid driver’s license.
• D.O.T certification (can be sponsored).
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with hand/power tools.
• Collaborate with other technicians to tackle complex projects.
• Complete work requests promptly and professionally.
• Keep track of company vehicle and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Facility Maintenance Technician Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Pool knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Facility Maintenance Technician Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in any of the following areas: electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping
• Valid driver’s license
• D.O.T certification (can be sponsored by U-Haul)
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
