Facility Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
Position Summary: A Penske Facility Maintenance Technician works in a warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from 34% to 95%. Performs all maintenance and preventive maintenance on a variety of media including mobile equipment, plumbing, electrical, dock doors, levelers, related dock equipment, concrete floor repair, painting, carpentry, rack repair and all related facilities maintenance.

1st Shift: Sunday – Wednesday 5:00 am – 1:00 pm

$33.00 per hour

Major Responsibilities
- Complete daily equipment rounds and make repairs as required.
- Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems; contact vendors as necessary.
- Participate in Safety Committee meetings, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
- Perform work‑order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
- Support operations department by providing suggestions and developing solutions as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for facilities issues during off‑shift hours.
Qualifications
- 2‑year associate degree or equivalent from a technical school; or 3 years’ experience in an industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to read, write and understand verbal communication in English.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance and repair including fire systems, chains, bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyor belts, lifts and other wear‑related assets.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance and repair, including voltages from 110 V to 480 V 3 phase, wiring, fuses, relays and ability to comprehend electrical schematics.
Physical Requirements
- Move frequently; stand, walk, climb, bend and sit for extended periods during scheduled work time.
- Use hands on a routine basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Work safely in all weather conditions.
- Be able to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment with frequent movement of large trucks.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg); occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Must be able to push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
