Job summary

Sanitas seeks a Facility Maintenance Technician to support safe, efficient operation of facility infrastructure in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will perform inspections, routine maintenance, and basic repairs while coordinating with vendors.

You will document work in CMMS, monitor supplies, and maintain accurate records. Strong safety knowledge, building systems expertise, and communication skills are essential for timely, compliant facility operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Report and resolve issues using the CMMS and document updates.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and basic repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with third‑party vendors.
  • Define scopes of work, timelines, and expected outcomes for vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, projects, and issues.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.

This role focuses on routine inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and coordination with third-party vendors to ensure the facility remains functional and compliant. Facility Maintenance Technicians play a key role in supporting daily operations by addressing issues related to the physical environment.Essential Job FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.Report, document, and resolve maintenance issues using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Perform hands-on maintenance work and basic repairs related to building systems and fixtures.Assist with minor repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems within assigned responsibilities and training.Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests.Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, materials, and tools; complete required daily reports through CMMS.Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors during installations, repairs, or maintenance activities.Define scopes of work for vendors, including tasks, timelines, and expected outcomes.Conduct site inspections and walk-throughs to monitor progress and identify issues during maintenance or facility projects.Maintain accurate records of work performed, project updates, and any issues encountered.Follow established safety policies and procedures at all times.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Required EducationAssociate’s degree.Required ExperienceProven experience (2+ years) as maintenance or facilities technician.Required Licenses and CertificationsN/ARequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of health and safety practices and regulations.Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.)Intermediate to advanced computers skills required in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).Understanding of budgeting and performance management.Eagle eye for details.Paint and drywall finishing.Great communication and interpersonal skills.Well-organized and apt in problem-solving.Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.Preferred QualificationsN/AFinancial ResponsibilitiesThis position’s financial responsibilities handle between $6,000 and $12,000 annually.Budget ResponsibilitiesThis position’s budgetary responsibilities handle between $6,000 and $12,000 annually.LanguagesAdvanced English is required.Bilingual Spanish or Creole is preferred.TravelThis position requires flexibility to travel per business needs.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools, controls, and maintenance equipment.
