Nexus in Middlesex County (NJ) is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance, grounds, and custodial operations for a busy sport and entertainment district in Middlesex County.

You will develop preventive maintenance schedules, oversee HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, manage inventory, and lead a team to ensure safety, compliance, and high standards of facility operations for all venues and fields.

Qualifications

• 5+ years facility/grounds maintenance experience with supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and maintenance best practices
• Experience in landscape or exterior facility upkeep preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, maintenance manuals, and safety regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and respond to facility emergencies as needed
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and local building codes

Responsabilités

• Respond to urgent repair needs and emergencies promptly
• Oversee grounds upkeep, landscaping, lighting, irrigation, and seasonal tasks

Position Summary

This position has a special emphasis on mechanical (HVAC), technology, computerized systems, kitchen equipment, and sporting equipment.

The Facility Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, professional services, stock control, supply orders, routine custodial, grounds and equipment for the facility, including maintaining the turf of athletic fields, and specific maintenance requirements for each field and grass type.

The Facility Maintenance Manager will also ensure a suitable working environment for the organization and provide appropriate reporting, performance measurements, budgeting, and leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Leadership

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance, grounds, and janitorial team members
• Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure team accountability and growth
• Ensure safety protocols are understood and followed by all team members
• Collaborate with department heads to coordinate maintenance needs and minimize disruptions to operations
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate contracted services as needed
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned by leadership

Facility Maintenance

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all buildings, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies
• Respond to urgent repair needs and emergencies promptly
• Ensure clubhouse, restrooms, locker rooms, and service areas are maintained to high standards

Grounds Maintenance

• Oversee the upkeep of landscaping, parking lots, signage, pathways, and common exterior areas
• Coordinate with the golf course superintendent (if applicable) to ensure grounds outside the course are aesthetically aligned
• Ensure outdoor lighting, fencing, signage, and irrigation systems are maintained properly
• Implement seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal, leaf cleanup, and storm prep

  Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of facility and/or grounds maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience in landscape or exterior facility upkeep preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, maintenance manuals, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
