Location: 5200 State Ave, Kansas City, Kansas 66102 United States of America During the Spring, Summer, & Fall this is primarily a Lawn Care Maintenance Position. The Facility Maintenance Helper will assist in the facility maintenance of all U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. In addition, we offer a $300 cash bonus, paid upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through our 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Effectively work with a variety of hand/ power tools.
  • Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
  • Perform work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting and basic facility maintenance
  • Perform clean-up duties at renovation sites.
  • Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assists skilled workers in the performance of all duties when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
  • Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
Education/Training:

High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
