Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Custodian in Newark, NJ to perform housekeeping and cleaning across office spaces, kitchens, restrooms, and production floors. Immediate on-the-job training is provided, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential overtime.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be 18 years of age or older to work in heights and electricity.
High school education or GED equivalent preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning materials and safe usage of chemicals.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret procedures in English.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Overtime work as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform housekeeping and cleaning of office spaces, kitchens, restrooms, and production floors.
Operate floor cleaning equipment and other tools as required.
Restock and maintain restrooms and break areas.
Keep windows and furniture tidy and dusted.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor with duties as assigned.
