Job summary

Saks Fifth Avenue Llc in Miami, FL is seeking a Facility Engineer to maintain, repair and operate critical store systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, doors, and related equipment. You will respond to after-hours calls and support energy management and store systems such as POS and telephone systems.

The role requires a technical degree, 2–5 years of experience in building maintenance, strong multitasking skills, and the ability to work with vendors and teammates.

Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Two to Five years experience or four years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Must have a background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and self-prioritize work assignments.
• Able to work with others as well as independently and be a self-starter.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with regular bending, lifting and reaching both below the waist and above the head and able to climb ladders.
• Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
• Understanding and knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) information.
• Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric

Responsibilities

• Responsible for weekly preventive maintenance on building equipment and building envelope, to include inspections of critical systems.
• Inspections must occur on facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators and HVAC.
• Responsible for ordering maintenance supplies and assisting Regional Manager in managing maintenance expenses.
• Assist Regional Manager with execution of capital planning projects.
• Engineer will maintain and/or coordinate all building energy management systems (lighting) through the Trane Ensemble Software.
• Store systems support may include Point of Sale (POS) and Telephone systems.
• Support of kitchen equipment may be required.
• Respond to after-hours and emergency calls; overtime may be required.
• Work with limited time off between Black Friday and January 8.
