Job summary

NES Fircroft in the United States seeks a Facilities Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical electrical systems supporting facility infrastructure.

You will collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while working from elevated positions and using lifts.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out policies (Control of Hazardous Energy).
• Understanding of electrical principles including voltage and current.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics and electrical testing.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70e and OSHA standards.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods and lift 10–20 lbs.
• Familiarity with protection relays and breaker trip settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical equipment to support facility infrastructure.
• Collaborate with electricians to install panels, circuits, lighting, and commercial equipment per plans.
• Diagnose and repair contactors, relays, motors, and motor controls to keep systems running.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems including VFDs, transformers, and motor circuits.
• Install and connect motor feeders, junction boxes, and distribution systems per codes.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts to access electrical tasks at height.

What to Expect:

As a Facilities Electrician, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the electrical systems that support critical facility infrastructure. This role involves hands-on work, where you will actively engage in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems. You'll work closely with Facilities Operations and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical services, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with a focus on both preventative and emergency maintenance.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of electrical equipment to support the facility's critical infrastructure
• Collaborate with other electricians to install electrical systems, including panels, circuits, lighting, and commercial equipment, following construction documents and verbal instructions
• Diagnose and repair electrical components such as contactors, relays, motors, and motor controls to ensure continuous operation of facility systems
• Conduct detailed testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including relay controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, and motor circuits using standard electrical testing methods
• Install and connect electrical systems, such as motor feeders, junction boxes, and distribution systems, ensuring all work complies with codes and standards
• Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts, to perform electrical tasks at various heights and locations within the facility
• Inspect electrical systems and components regularly to identify and address any hazards, defects, or necessary repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards

What You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency in basic mathematics and electrical testing
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA 70e, OSHA)

• Familiarity with protection relays, breaker trip settings, and electrical testing equipment
