Job summary

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals seeks a Chief Financial Officer for our North Valley Behavioral Hospital in Huber Heights, OH. The role oversees financial operations, budgeting, and reporting for a new inpatient behavioral health facility, with oversight of monthly statements, forecasts, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of healthcare financial leadership, CPA preferred, and a track record in hospital finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health or clinical discipline.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including forecasts.
• Prepare annual operating budget and participate in strategic planning.
• Monitor revenue cycle metrics to improve cash collections and reduce bad debt.
• Maintain internal controls and readiness for audits with no material deficiencies.
• Oversee purchasing and cost controls to stay within budget.

NPH is adding a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve our patients and leadership team in Huber Heights, Ohio at our brand new, inpatient actue psychiatric hospital, North Valley Behavioral Hospital. The CFO will have oversite and accountability for overall financial operations and day-to-day fiscal management of the hospital. This is a new position due to the growth of our organization!

• Ensure completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including monthly operating reports, certifications, disclosures, and forecasts
• Balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and in compliance with company policies with variances identified and corrected
• Confirm accounting and business office policies and internal controls are in place for audit with no material adjustments or deficiencies found
• Prepares annual operating budget and participates in the annual strategic planning process, including ongoing analysis of variances from budget and implementing changes needed to achieve budget goals.
• Has thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement methodologies to confirm accuracy of payment to facilities and recorded revenue deductions.
• Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance to include timely collection of accounts receivable, limiting uncompensated care and achieving goals for cash collections and AR days to reduce bad debt and denials.
• Actively involved in Front End Revenue Cycle processes to include completed insurance verification on 100% of patients, working with the financial counselors to ensure proper determination of patient portions and, approval of any discounts or charity for logging of upfront collections.
• Monitors purchases to ensure supply costs are kept to budgeted levels.
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or Clinical Discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a healthcare setting required, including experience leading hospital or facility-based financial operations (e.g., Director of Finance, Controller, or similar roles).
• Prior experience sering as a Chief Financial Officer or in a senior finance leadership role preferred.
• Completion of the NPH CFO-in-Training Program may be considered in lieu of direct CFO experience.
• Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
• Must live within market being served.
• Excellent financial analysis skills.
• Advanced proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
