Job summary

Riverhead Building Supply in Locust Valley, NY is seeking an entry-level Facility Attendant - Customer Service. You will assist customers with selecting materials, cut lumber to size, and help load purchases into vehicles. The role requires weekend availability and physical effort with some lifting.

Bi-lingual a plus, graduates/students/retirees welcome to apply. The company offers stability, benefits, and opportunities for growth within a long-standing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is a plus.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and advise customers on building materials and supplies.
• Cut lumber and related materials to sizes requested by customers.
• Assist customers in loading purchased materials into their vehicles.
• Mark prices on merchandise according to pricing guides.
• Straighten materials on display to maintain safe and orderly sales areas.
• Cover exposed materials to prevent weather damage.
• Count materials and record totals on inventory sheets.

• Marking prices on merchandise or price stickers, according to pricing guides.
• Straightening materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
• Covering exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.
• Counting material and recording totals on inventory sheets.

Participates in special projects, as necessary and weekend availability required.

Entry Level position. Heavier lifting required, knowledge of building materials helpful. Bi-lingual a plus. Must be available weekends.

Compensation

For compliance purposes for NYS transparency, the expected salary range is $18.00 - $20.00. Compensation will be based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
