Job summary

Curium, the world's largest nuclear medicine company, is seeking a Facilities Technician in Maryland Heights to support preventive maintenance and repairs of production equipment in a cGMP environment. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, perform PMs and work orders, and contribute to safety and quality across the facility.

Schedule: Mon–Fri 6:00am–2:30pm with overtime as needed. Weekend on-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical systems, HVAC, or related field.
3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Experience with high-voltage electrical systems is preferred.
Experience operating and maintaining 480V 3-phase MCCs, UPS, motors, transformers, PA systems, and HVAC controls.
Experience with industrial electricity, industrial electrical controls, temporary power installations, building management systems, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Perform PM's and work orders on time and ensure preventive maintenance checks and inspections.
Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
Respond to production-down issues to minimize downtime.
Test equipment after repairs and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Summary of Position

To support preventative maintenance and repairing of production equipment and special projects as required of the manufacturing department. Perform a variety of duties in electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or optical areas, including troubleshooting, adjusting, testing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, components, devices, or systems.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. Working hours could be adjusted. Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Essential Functions

Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.

Perform all assigned PM's and work orders on time and make preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required.

Perform functionality and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.

Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of manufacturing and associated support equipment.

Respond to production-down issues in a manner that minimizes downtime.

Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical system in an industrial environment.

Determines best course of action to make repairs. Sets and/or adjusts priorities to ensure safety and reliability of production equipment and support systems.

Test equipment after repairs and leave equipment and area in a clean, safe condition.

Operate related equipment, conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.

Use predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or product; making modifications and adjustments as necessary.

Be self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team when needed.

Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOP's.

Follow and promote on-the-job safety expectations, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following cGMP rules and guidelines in all designated areas.

Maintain proper housekeeping expectations.

Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical systems, HVAC, or related field required.

3 or more years of maintenance experience required, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Technician with proven experience in high-voltage electrical systems preferred.

Experience operating and maintaining 480-volt 3 phase motor control center, distribution center, UPS systems, motors, transformers, PA systems, and HVAC controls.

Must have experience with the following:
- Industrial/commercial electricity
- Industrial Electrical Controls
- Installation of temporary power systems
- Building Management Systems
- Strong Troubleshooting Skills

The following experience is preferred:
- Pipefitting
- WFI or USP water systems
- Clean steam generator
- Boiler maintenance and operation
- Air compressors and vacuum systems
- Chilled water system maintenance and operation
- Root Cause Analysis

Technician is required to participate in the weekend on-call rotation and the late-shift rotation.

Working Conditions:

Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.

Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.

Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.

Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.

May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.

Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.

Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.

Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
