Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for Plover Place in Duluth, MN. The role maintains indoor and outdoor spaces, performs routine maintenance, handles work orders, assists with turnovers and events, and responds to after-hours emergencies to keep the facility safe and functional.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1+ year maintenance/grounds experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to interact well with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• 1+ year maintenance experience (carpentry, electrical, plumbing) and 1+ year custodial grounds maintenance.
• Pass background checks and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial services to maintain indoor cleanliness and waste removal.
• Groundskeeping including seasonal outdoor maintenance and snow removal.
• Process and complete work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Assist with routine maintenance and basic repairs (electrical/plumbing/carpentry/painting).
• Assist with event setup, transport, and teardown.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
• Prepare apartments for new tenants, including cleaning and minor repairs.
• Provide front desk coverage as assigned.
