Position Overview

Facilities Technician – responsible for the management, execution and day‑to‑day support of building and plant operations, including labs, manufacturing plants, utilities, equipment, and systems. Performs routine inspections, maintains documented records, and is on‑call for emergencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and GMPs. Communicates and collaborates with various departments to meet facility needs and resolve issues quickly.

Work Location

Travel to client sites may be required up to 100% based on project demands and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside service providers for routine CM and PM program tasks under building, system, or equipment maintenance contracts.
  • Support verification and maintenance of PIDs, HVAC, electrical systems, one‑lines, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
  • Ensure all Corrective Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Program tasks are completed and documented according to policies and procedures.
  • Perform, schedule, coordinate, and oversee emergency troubleshooting and repair on HVAC, mechanical, utility systems, and lab and manufacturing equipment (GxP and non‑GxP).
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and utilities to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Maintain documented records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs following approved SOPs and work instructions to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and tracking of facility status.
  • Respond to alarms and emergencies, such as equipment failures or power outages, in line with the facility’s emergency response procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and research and development to meet the facility’s needs.
  • Troubleshoot systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively with minimal oversight.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Technical Experience:
    • Minimum of 2–6 years of Project/Facilities Engineering experience or experience as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Subcontractor.
    • Facilities background preferred.
    • Process equipment experience.
    • CAPEX experience.
    • Demonstrated understanding of facility systems, utilities, and equipment.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Adhere to procedures and safety protocols; use appropriate PPE and be aware of emergency procedures.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and GMPs.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
    • Highly motivated, independent, detail‑oriented team player with good organization and initiative.
Physical Demands

Use of a computer keyboard and mouse; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen. Walk, sit, lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds. Occasionally stand, stoop, or kneel. Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Office‑style environment with moderate noise, indoor temperate conditions, and bright lighting conducive to minimal eye strain.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $31 to $42, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
