Job summary

Dominion Energy’s Facilities group seeks a Facilities Technician I or II to perform building maintenance at the Knolls Campus in Glen Allen, VA. You will test, troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems to keep facilities operating efficiently.

Tech I emphasizes assisting with evaluations, vendor management, and environmental/life-safety compliance, while Tech II adds advanced guidance, project leadership, and expanded vendor oversight.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of directly related experience in Facilities Maintenance, Construction, or relevant trade.
  • Basic knowledge of Building Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire systems.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering and design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental & life safety compliance regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local code requirements.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain multiple facilities.
  • Ability to work overtime and respond to afterhours emergencies when necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology such as personal computers, Microsoft applications, and work management systems such as SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair and customer request work orders independently to ensure buildings & equipment operate at optimal performance.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, repairs and installs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems independently.
  • Manages external vendors to ensure compliance with internal policies, OSHA regulations, and federal, state, or local code requirements.
  • Completes or assists in testing, inspecting, and maintaining environmental or life safety systems to meet federal, state, and local compliance regulations.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to peers regarding equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Evaluates building and equipment conditions to provide leadership with repair solutions or improvement recommendations.
  • Manages small O&M or capital improvement projects.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy's Facilities group is looking for Facilities Technician I or a Facilities Technician II to work in the Corporate Facilities Operations and Maintenance Group and the position will work out of our Knolls Campus (Glen Allen, VA), This position will perform building maintenance related tasks at the Knolls Campus, currently buildings Knolls 1 & 3. The duties of the position include, performing preventative maintenance, repair and customer request work orders independently to ensure buildings & equipment operate at optimal performance. Tests, troubleshoots, repairs and installs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems independently. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Additional responsibilities for the Facilities Technician I position:

  • Assists with evaluating building and equipment conditions to provide leadership with repair solutions or improvement recommendations.

What You'll Get

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

Tech I $47,300 to $61,400

Tech II $65,500 to $85,000

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location. This is not intended to represent the full salary range for the position or limit future compensation growth.
