PA Options for Wellness is seeking a dedicated Facilities Technician I to maintain and optimize our greenhouse and manufacturing environments. Qualifications

  • 3+ years in facilities/industrial maintenance.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong reading of manuals and safety training.

The Facilities Technician I is responsible for independently performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting activities across facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This position supports the safe and reliable operation of production, manufacturing, and facility support systems while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Facilities Technician I serves as a skilled maintenance resource and works collaboratively with production leadership, contractors, and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime and maintain facility readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspection activities on facility equipment and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility-related equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure including generators, air handling units, refrigeration equipment, irrigation systems, lighting systems, and environmental controls.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and equipment failures with urgency to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
  • Complete general facility repairs including carpentry, painting, drywall, doors, flooring, fencing, and exterior structures.
  • Assist with landscaping, snow removal, facility appearance, and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Assist in coordinating contractor activities and verifying completed work.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, and confined space procedures.
  • Support compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations and company operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certification in HVAC, Electrical, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field required
  • Professional licensing in a skilled trade preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing, with a clean driving record
  • Three (3) or more years of facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related experience
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility systems
  • Ability to diagnose and repair common facility and equipment issues independently
  • Ability to read technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and equipment documentation
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment
WORK CONDITIONS:

This is a labor-intensive position, working in a greenhouse and manufacturing environment. This position is in an environment that frequently has a strong Medical Marijuana odor. This position will frequently be in-contact with Medical Marijuana in its vegetative, flowering, harvested, cured, and packaged phases. his position has direct exposure to finely ground Medical Marijuana product that can irritate airways. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time, including crouching and stooping.
  • Utilize hearing protection equipment and other PPE to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership through talking and hearing.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and/or feel objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • The employee must be physically capable of performing manual labor tasks required for the proper management of cultivation facility, including meeting activity performance metrics, lifting/carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving and adjusting equipment, etc.
  • Will be required to wear varying degrees of personal protective equipment for specific tasks (some tasks require partial PPE; some will require full PPE).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work in rooms with temperatures averaging 60 – 75 degrees with elevated humidity levels and intense bright lights as well as areas with higher-than-average CO2 levels.
  • Must be able to work in the dark or altered colored lighting.
  • The work environment may include exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, temperatures, motion, and moderate-to-loud noises.
