Job summary

UL Solutions seeks a Facilities Technician in Auburn Hills, MI to perform fabrication, installation, and ongoing maintenance across our laboratories. You will ensure the operation of all building equipment and coordinate with contractors to support uptime.

Required are 8 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance, strong communication, and autonomous work capability. On-site role with PPE use and safety compliance; travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in facilities/maintenance in a commercial setting.
• Ability to safely work autonomously.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to wear proper PPE when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC, building automation, mechanical, chemical, electrical tasks and pollution control.
• Conduct preventive maintenance including HVAC and plumbing.
• Supervise building maintenance and security in absence of management.
• Coordinate projects with contractors: scheduling, certificates of insurance, safety clearance.
• Assist in security badging and access across two facilities with different systems.
• Inspect emergency systems (fire, backflow, eyewash, showers, lighting, generators).
• Manage building environmental conditions via building management systems.
• Oversee recycling programs and liaise with vendors.
