Job summary

Owens Realty Services is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker in New Haven, CT to inspect and maintain grounds and facilities, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to service requests with a focus on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read blueprints. This full-time role offers a steady schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and pay at $26.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
• Electrical (low and high voltage) experience.
• Plumbing and HVAC experience required.
• VAV boxes and controls knowledge helpful.
• EMS and control work experience preferred.
• General maintenance across building systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grounds, buildings, parking areas and other critical areas daily.
• Address safety concerns immediately and escalate as needed.
• Perform periodic inspections of building equipment per Facility Manager.
• Maintain building and equipment logs.
• Keep tools and storage areas clean and organized.
• Repair and replace electrical, mechanical, and lighting components as needed.
• Address tenant complaints and service requests promptly.
• Complete work orders and service calls in a timely manner.
• Communicate limitations to Facility Manager before starting work.
• Respond to after-hours or emergency calls within one hour.
• Follow all safety, timekeeping, and uniform policies.
• Update the work order system and daily maintenance logs.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as scheduled.
• Assist on-site teams with various tasks as required.
