Job Description

As a Maintenance Tech 1, you will be responsible for executing a preventative maintenance program, supporting troubleshooting and diagnostics repairs of the building’s material handling equipment, and assisting the Operations team with designing maintenance solutions for complex problems and projects. The Maintenance Tech 1 plays an integral role in achieving building and department goals.

A day in the life…

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all aspects of material handling systems & conveyors (such as motor/reducer issues, belt tracker, belt lacing).
• Assist in troubleshooting basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components—including photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders.
• Operate equipment safely: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools.
• Maintain a work order system, creating and closing work orders with data on labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Maintain positive working relationships across all departments within the Nordstrom facility.
• Physically move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations.

You’ve got this if…

• 1+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance (preferred).
• Knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment.
• Experience with power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs (preferred).
