Job summary

Perdue Farms seeks a Facilities Technician to maintain buildings, systems, and grounds supporting daily operations at our Salisbury facility. You will inspect and repair electrical and plumbing systems and manage general maintenance to keep the plant safe and efficient.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a 2-year technical degree preferred. QEW certification is expected; strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure.
• Perform preventative maintenance and schedule development.

• Diagnose issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Respond to plant-related emergencies such as power outages or weather events.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments to address plant needs.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment for all associates.
• Work all required schedules.

From inspecting and repairing electrical and plumbing systems to tackling general building maintenance, your work ensures a safe, reliable, and well-functioning environment. This position has a target wage of $21.00 - $31.50 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

• Conduct routine maintenance of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure i.e., painting, general carpentry, floor repairs, installing general office equipment, lighting. Develop preventative maintenance schedules.
• Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and building codes, identifying potential hazards.
• Diagnose issues with building systems and equipment, providing timely solutions to minimize down time.
• Respond to plant related emergencies, such as power outages, floods, and weather threats.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand plant needs and address concerns promptly.
• Ensures a safe and clean environment for all associates.
• Works all required work schedules.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.
• 3-5 Years Experience in related field.
• Maintains Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
• Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
• Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
• Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
• May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
