Job summary

GGP is seeking a Facilities Technician to assist the Operations Manager with maintenance, safety and repairs at a retail property in Richmond, VA. You will perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and assist with events and decor setup.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2–3 years of maintenance experience, with a valid driver’s license. OSHA 10-hour certification is a plus, and bilingual applicants are welcome.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years of building maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
  • 2-year Tech School or trade certificate is a plus.
  • OSHA 10-Hour course is a plus.
  • Bilingual welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems.
  • Operate equipment for preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain interior/exterior areas, including painting, plumbing, and lighting.
  • Assist with events setup and mall decor.
  • Assist in snow removal and custodial duties as needed.
  • Support safety plans and training per OSHA guidelines.

With a team of 1,200+ employees and a legacy of leadership in retail real estate, we’re shaping the future of the industry by delivering exceptional value to our partners and the communities we serveIf you’re ready to be a part of our team, we encourage you to apply.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty with the implementation of safety plans, operating standards and guidelines, troubleshooting, repairs, and performing preventative maintenance required to maintain the physical assets of the property.ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systemsOperate a variety of equipment to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs and maintain cleanliness of propertyPerform a variety of maintenance/minor repair activities on the interior/exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, clears drain stoppages, lighting, flooring, and roofAssist with maintaining appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and toolsRepair, modify, move retail merchandising units as neededAssist in the setup of events and install/take-down mall decorPerform interior/exterior custodial duties as needed which may include sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, gathering trash, empty trash receptacles; operate compactor; and landscapingAssist with snow removal by vehicle and/or by hand (if applicable)Embody and support GGP’s Safety, Health, and Environment Policy.
