Job summary

Embraer in Nashville, TN seeks a Facilities Technician to repair and maintain buildings and systems, lead junior staff, and coordinate with engineers and vendors to keep operations running smoothly.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and welding, conduct inspections, and manage conference setups, office moves, and grounds keeping while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Generally, at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, welding, assembly and furniture removal.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Professional driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, and Lotus Notes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
  • Conducts routine inspections to determine maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
  • Acts as leader for less-skilled assistants.
  • Consults with engineers and vendors.
  • Performs maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
  • Oversees routine maintenance and cleaning of break rooms, bathrooms, hanger and office areas.
  • Maintains and cleans grounds, gardens and buildings.
  • Assists with furniture setup and conference/meeting arrangements.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Facilities Technician repairs and maintains buildings/facilities. Uses expertise for diagnosis and for emergency repairs.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Provides preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
  • Conducts routine or periodic inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment.
  • Acts as leader for less-skilled assistants.
  • Consults with engineers and vendors.
  • Performs and oversees maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
  • Oversees routine maintenance and cleaning duties of the break rooms, coffee stations, bathroom checks, hanger and office areas.
  • Maintains and cleans, when necessary, the grounds, gardens and buildings.
  • Assists with furniture set-up and office assembly/removal.
  • Sets up tables, cabinets, chairs, shelves, etc. for conferences and meetings
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:

High School Diploma.

Experience:

Generally, at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.

Experience in infrastructure maintenance activities including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, welding, assembly, set up, and removal of furniture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Assignments require Comprehensive Knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their Technical Area.
  • Skills are broadly applied in multiple Technical Areas.
  • Maintenance techniques related to carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
  • Professional driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the construction, maintenance, repair and operation of facilities.
  • Some knowledge of office (Excel and Word), internet explorer, and lotus notes.
  • ENS system, company policies and procedures.
Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
