Job summary

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Facilities Technician to keep our facility running smoothly by maintaining buildings, systems, and grounds. You will inspect and repair electrical and plumbing systems, install general office equipment, and develop preventative maintenance schedules.

A team-focused environment supports safe, reliable operations. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years in related fields; a 2-year technical degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance of building systems, electrical and plumbing infrastructure and general facilities tasks.
  • Inspect for safety compliance and address hazards promptly.
  • Diagnose issues with facilities and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to plant-related emergencies and coordinate with vendors for specialized services.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand plant needs and maintain a safe environment.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance

Summary

Be the force that keeps our facility running strong. As a Facilities Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the buildings, systems, and grounds that support our daily operations. From inspecting and repairing electrical and plumbing systems to tackling general building maintenance, your work ensures a safe, reliable, and well-functioning environment. You’ll collaborate with a skilled team and trusted vendors to keep the plant operating efficiently and ready for what’s next.   • Conduct routine maintenance of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure i.e., painting, general carpentry, floor repairs, installing general office equipment, lighting. Develop preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and building codes, identifying potential hazards.
  • Diagnose issues with building systems and equipment, providing timely solutions to minimize down time.
  • Respond to plant related emergencies, such as power outages, floods, and weather threats.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand plant needs and address concerns promptly.
  • Ensures a safe and clean environment for all associates.
  • Works all required work schedules.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.
  • 3-5 Years Experience in related field.
  • Maintains Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
  • Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
  • Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
