Job summary

Peraton seeks a Facilities Tech Support for the Telecom Team in the Central Service Area, Houston, to keep NAS/BNATCS infrastructure running. You will oversee facilities operations, including HVAC, power, cabling, and site security, ensuring high uptime and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of facilities experience, a U.S. citizen status with the ability to obtain clearance, and proven ability to manage vendor relationships in critical environments.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering/management
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 4 additional years of experience
• Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure.
• Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards.
• Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks for critical infrastructure.
• Background in physical security standards for facilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities—including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and site security—to ensure near-perfect uptime.
• Vendor escort oversight; escort technical operations personnel to monitor uncleared visitors, contractors, or non-badged workers to protect critical infrastructure.
• System installation & maintenance: lead installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling.
• Power systems oversight: maintain and troubleshoot critical DC power systems, rectifiers, and battery backups to support mission-critical operations.

Job description

Basic Qualifications:

• Background in physical security standards for facilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facility/building management.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices, LEED standards, or energy-efficient systems.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

Travel and Work Location Requirements

This position requires 100% local travel to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facilities within the assigned region. Candidates must reside in or near Houston, TX and be able to travel regularly to multiple FAA sites throughout their designated area as business needs require.
