Job summary

Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Facilities Technician for per diem/part-time shifts (1-2 per week). Compensation is $30.00 per hour. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety-focused building operations within our inpatient facility.

Responsibilities include HVAC, electrical, plumbing maintenance, and coordination with the Plant Operations team to ensure patient and staff safety and a reliable environment.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance, repair, and safety procedures.
• Current and valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (education path).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Inspect, service, repair, and overhaul plant equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Monitor operation of refrigeration, boilers, and hot water systems; record readings and adjust as needed.
• Assist with installation and repair of piping, wiring, and motors.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Adhere to hazardous materials handling and departmental safety policies.
