Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech 2 to execute a preventative maintenance program and troubleshoot material handling systems within our facility.

You will support the Operations team by designing maintenance solutions and helping with projects. The role requires 3+ years experience with conveyors and electrical systems, strong tools/PLC knowledge, and the ability to lead safety collaborations while performing shifts up to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of controls systems and PLCs; robotics knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance and troubleshoot material handling systems and conveyors.
• Diagnose electrical and control system issues using test equipment.
• Lead preventative maintenance procedures and assist in training plans for technicians.
• Create and close out work orders with data on labor hours, parts, and equipment used.
• Safely operate forklifts and other equipment; work up to 12‑hour shifts and handle up to 49 lbs.

Job Description As a Maintenance Tech 2 you will be responsible for executing a preventative maintenance program as well as troubleshooting and diagnostics repairs of the building and material handling systems. You will also support the Operations team by helping with designing maintenance solutions for difficult problems and maintenance projects. The Maintenance Tech 2 will also help develop plans on how to accomplish building and department goals.

A day in the life... Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all aspects of material handling systems & conveyors (such as motor/ reducer issues, belt tracker, belt lacing Diagnose, using test equipment, electrical and electronic control systems and other related equipment, devices or components Maintain and troubleshoot basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders. Safely operate equipment: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools, and energy management equipment to perform system support tasks as required Working Knowledge of a work order system Lead preventative maintenance procedures Assist in leading training plans for service technicians Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used Maintain a positive working relationship across all departments within the Nordstrom facility Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation

You own this if you have… At least 3+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment. Advanced knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of controls systems & PLC’s. (preferred) Robotics Knowledge (preferred)

Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $27.75 - $44.25 Hourly
