Job summary

Fitness Central in Chattanooga is seeking team members to keep our premier fitness club clean and orderly. You will maintain locker rooms, fitness floors, studios, and pool areas, ensuring towels and supplies are stocked and equipment is sanitized throughout the day.

Strong work ethic and ability to stand for long shifts are essential, along with good communication and respectful interaction with staff and members. This is a physical, hands-on role supporting a welcoming fitness community.

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Must have a strong work ethic and integrity.
• Must communicate well and interact respectfully with others.
• Must be able to stand for long shifts and handle physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep facilities clean, including locker rooms, fitness floor, studios, and pool.
• Wipe down equipment in assigned sections daily.
• Deep cleans locker rooms nightly on closing shifts and maintains cleanliness.
• Ensure towels and lockers are stocked throughout shift.
• Thoroughly cleaning, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing and restocking.
• Interact and engage with members professionally and authentically.
• Prioritize tasks based on classes and business needs.
• Bring a positive mindset and attitude.
• Anticipate facility needs through training and experience.
• Communicate with facilities manager about time off, procedures, repairs, and questions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Keep our facilities, including but not limited to locker rooms, fitness floor, studios, pool, etc. clean, maintained and well organized
• Wipes down equipment in assigned sections daily.
• Deep cleans locker rooms nightly on closing shifts and maintains cleanliness throughout the day.
• Ensure towels and locker rooms are stocked to the best of your ability throughout shift.
• Thoroughly cleaning, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing, wiping down and restocking.
• Interact and engage with our members professionally and with authenticity.
• Prioritize work tasks based on classes and business needs.
• Bring a positive mindset and attitude.
• Anticipate facility needs through training, experience, and asking questions.
• Communicate with facilities manager regarding time off, cleaning procedures, potential repairs, lost items, and any questions that may come up. Open communication is appreciated and respected.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Must have a strong work ethic and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity.
• Must be able to communicate, show respect, and interact well with others, including team members, third parties and members.
• Must be able to stand for most of the shift.
• Must be able to load/unload washer/dryers.
• Must be able to move objects up to 40lbs.
• Must be able to perform all essential physical aspects of the position which may include standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending and reaching.
