Job summary

VOA GNY is seeking a Maintenance Worker III to oversee maintenance functions at Webster House in the Bronx, a housing shelter environment. The role requires emergency availability and supervises maintenance staff to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance planning, incident response, budget assistance, and meticulous record-keeping for inspections and work orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 3 years related experience in building maintenance; 1 year supervisory experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• S-12/S-13/S-95/P-98/F-80 fire safety and compliance certifications.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train and supervise maintenance staff.
• Prepare and implement a preventative maintenance plan including fire safety and OSHA requirements.
• Manage work orders and track property maintenance, inventory and purchases.
• Respond to emergency calls outside regular hours.
• Assist in capital budget preparation.
• Ensure regulatory inspections are performed on time and filed.
