Job summary

Lanakila Pacific is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to lead daily operations of the Facilities Department across three campuses in Honolulu, Halawa, and Wahiawa. This hands-on role supervises staff, coordinates with contractors, and partners with internal departments to keep facilities safe and functional.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of supervisory experience, a valid license, and a focus on safety, maintenance, and efficiency in a community-focused organization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Progressive experience in carpentry, equipment maintenance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • TB clearance, background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, CPS/APS check, and Military Base access.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Facilities staff; address performance issues and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of department personnel.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor services and vendor relationships.
  • Partner with the Property Manager to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and operational.
  • Prioritize and complete maintenance needs in collaboration with management.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and plan for repairs and replacements within budget.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective completion of repair and maintenance requests.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Facilities Supervisor ensures that Lanakila Pacific’s facilities are safe, clean, functional, and well maintained. This hands‑on leader oversees daily operations of the Facilities Department, supervises staff, coordinates work with contractors, and partners with internal departments. The Supervisor currently oversees three primary facilities located in Honolulu, Halawa, and Wahiawa.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Progressive experience in carpentry, equipment maintenance, or related fields.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Facilities staff; address performance issues, complaints, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of department personnel.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor services and vendor relationships.
  • Partner with the Property Manager to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and operational.
  • Prioritize and complete maintenance needs in collaboration with management.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and plan for repairs and replacements within budget.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective completion of repair and maintenance requests.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Manage facility leases and service contracts.
  • Collaborate with quality control and workers’ compensation teams to strengthen safety practices.
  • Monitor financial reports, budgets, and billing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, technologies, and regulatory updates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent: Standing; walking; sitting; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting; handling/pushing/pulling with hands and arms; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs; color vision; distance vision; hearing; talking; and working both indoors and outdoors.

Occasional: Climbing ladders or stairs; balancing; lifting and carrying over 50 lbs; working with chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays; exposure to moving mechanical parts or heights.

Rare: Working in low-light or nighttime conditions; extended work in high places; exposure to electrical hazards.

WORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULE:
  • Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm; occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
  • Work may involve exposure to mechanical parts, heights, electrical systems, and chemicals (e.g., petroleum products, degreasers).
  • Regular indoor/outdoor work and travel to multiple sites.

TRAVEL: Regular travel between Honolulu, Halawa, and Wahiawa facilities, with additional site visits as needed.
