Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance technician with strong welding capabilities to support site and production areas. You will diagnose problems, perform installations, read engineering drawings, and log activities in the work order system.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a manufacturing setting with welding experience, 6G pipe welding certifications (TIG or Stick), and are comfortable operating cranes, forklifts, and lifting equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility with Welding Experience.
  • Pipe welding 6G certifications (TIG or Stick Open Root or with Backing).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems, plan, and complete work required, identify and order parts and materials.
  • Perform machine and equipment installations, positioning, leveling, and alignment.
  • Work from engineering drawings, sketches, or field requirements.
  • Use work order system to open, close, and log work activities.
  • Use PPE and access tools like cranes, forklifts, booms, and scissor lifts to perform duties.

Job Description Summary

Perform facilities maintenance and repair services for all site and production areas, and on all infrastructure components, and equipment. Perform a full range of skilled welding of steel fabrications and pipe systems, to include erecting, joining, cutting, bending, welding, grinding, and rolling of steel members and material. Operate brakes, shear, benders, table saws, plasma cutter, tap & dies, and other steel working machines and tools.

  • Work without direction on standard preventative maintenance and extensive repairs. Diagnose problems, plan, and complete work required, identify and order parts and materials.
  • Perform machine and equipment installations, positioning, leveling, and alignment.
  • Work from engineering drawings, sketches, or field requirements.
  • Use work order system to open, close, and log work activities.
  • Use proper PPE, tools, cranes, fork trucks, boom and scissor lifts to access and support work functions and requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology or similar field
  • OR High School Diploma/GED with applicable Military Advanced Training Course
  • OR High School Diploma/GED with a Credentialed Journeyman from an Approved Apprenticeship Program
  • OR High School Diploma/GED with a Completion of Modern Welding 900 Hour Course or similar welding course
Desired Characteristics
