Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a versatile facilities technician for a full-time day shift to maintain and repair industrial equipment and building systems. The role covers electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, refrigeration, and HVAC tasks in a commercial/industrial setting.

Expect 40 hours per week with 30% travel as necessary, on-call duties, and a clean driving record. Prior maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations or related experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment; discusses operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems.
• Dismantles defective machines and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus and components of machinery and equipment.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment; repairs gauges and valves.
• Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the establishment.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways; spreads salt to prevent ice buildup.
• Be on call during designated times.

A Brief Overview
Must specialize in one or more of the following trades and have general knowledge of non-specialized trades. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, refrigeration, heating/air, painter, hydraulics, plant operations, machine repair. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Licenses and Certifications

• Drivers License - DMV Current Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR with 3-year baseline and annual MVR review. Required

What you will do

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways. Push snow with truck or tractor.
• Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
• Be on call during designated times.
