Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Boulder, CO is seeking a Facilities Specialist to join our site operations team. You will handle work orders, preventive maintenance, and repairs, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to keep the facility running smoothly.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, hoods and other equipment, assist with safety programs, and manage facilities software. A high school diploma with 3+ years experience is required, with option for an associate degree.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience; associate degree with 1+ year acceptable.
  • Certificate program in facilities or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling preventative maintenance agreements.
  • Manage internal facilities systems and support EH&S, engineering and lab support teams.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facilities equipment including HVAC, Plumbing, Hoods and other equipment.
  • Coordinate with facilities managers on maintenance services with external vendors and execute repairs from start to finish.
  • Communicate with onsite vendors about repairs and maintenance.
  • Familiar with R&D (non-GxP) laboratory practices related to tasks performed.
  • Assist lab and facilities managers when contract engineers come to maintain lab equipment.
  • Help manage facilities software such as security, work order systems, BAS, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

About The Department

The Boulder Site is home to the specialized technical operations/CMC team for oligonucleotides and RNAi therapeutics. The CMC team works alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and works closely with our teams in Lexington, Massachusetts. The Position

The Facilities Specialist works as a member of the facilities group responsible for completion of work orders tasks, planned and unplanned maintenance & repairs. Works with NN internal operations team and manage external service contractors as needed. Coordinate with facilities manager for the scheduling and management of support contractors entering the building.

Relationships

Reports to Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Internal relationships include working with research associates and colleagues within Operations. External relationships include contact with various facilities support vendors.

Essential Functions
  • Facilities specialist assists Facilities and Lab Managers in the scheduling of preventative maintenance agreements
  • Assist with managing internal facilities systems, support EH&S, Engineering and Lab Support teams
  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair facilities equipment including HVAC, Plumbing, Hoods and other equipment
  • Coordinate with facilities managers on all maintenance services with external vendors and executing repairs for building operations; independently responsible from inception to resolution on all issues in a timely fashion
  • Communications to facilities manager based onsite vendors for any repairs and maintenance
  • Familiar with R&D (non-GxP) laboratory practices as related to the tasks being performed
  • Required to assist the lab manager, and facilities manager as contract engineers come in to maintain lab equipment
  • Help manage facilities software like the security system, work order system, BAS system, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required
Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. Ability to lift 0-50 lbs.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience required. Equivalent experience requirements for advanced degrees would be an Associate's degree with 1+ years of experience
  • Certificate program for facilities, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in facility maintenance
Compensation

The base compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
