Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is hiring a facilities maintenance specialist in the United States. The role focuses on keeping the building and grounds safe, clean, and operational, with duties spanning HVAC and mechanical system upkeep, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks.

You’ll support event setup, vendor coordination, and shuttle operations as needed. The ideal candidate has basic communication, organizational, and analytical skills, plus experience with drywall, painting, light electrical

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate building mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, fans, generators, electrical switch gear).
• Perform carpentry, painting, flooring and office furniture moves.
• Ensure safety through basic inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Replace light bulbs, tiles and maintain fixtures as needed.
• Monitor inventory and assist with events, setup and teardown.
• Assist janitorial vendor as needed and support shuttle service.

Responsible for maintaining the building and grounds to ensure they are accessible and maintained in a safe and effective manner.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure to maintain and continue operation of mechanical systems such as HVAC, boilers, fans, generators, electrical switch gear and ATS.
• Perform general carpentry, painting, flooring, office furniture moves and spot cleaning.
• Ensure the safety of employees through basic safety and compliance inspections of the entire building to identify general corrective maintenance as necessary for proper maintenance and operation of various equipment, fixtures, etc. (fire equipment, elevators, and generators).
• Change light bulbs and ballasts, ceiling tiles, replace carpet tiles as needed
• Adjust/Move furniture
• Monitor conference room furnishings, i.e., inventory chairs, clean white boards, check that supplies are adequate and phones lights . . are working
• Monitor inventory of breakroom stock, equipment and address as needed
• General pick-up and clean grounds
• Help with company event set-up and tear down
• Fill in and/or assist for janitorial vendor as needed
• Moderate to heavy lifting, accepting/delivering of packages or mail and hanging pictures
• Help with Shuttle service when needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Oral and Written Communication- Basic
• Organizational- Neat and clean
• Analytical- Basic be able to recognize problems and possibilities of approach
• Customer Focus- Diligence and sense of urgency in getting tasks completed
• Computer/Software Skills- Basic typing and knowledge of e-mail communications
• Technical –Drywall repair/painting, light electrical, landscaping, custodial, light plumbing
• High school or GED minimum
• Technical or trade school a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of general maintenance methods. (3 years)
• Prior experience working in the facilities/property management, commercial real estate, or professional services industries
• Ability to make sensible, independent decisions with limited supervision
• Dependable, cooperative and displays attention to details.
• Certification of HVAC and/or electric
