Job summary

Penn Community Bank is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Perkasie location. The role covers courier duties, mail processing, deliveries of supplies, and routine property maintenance bank-wide.

Responsibilities include electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry tasks, plus reconfiguring modular offices and maintaining safe, clean spaces. A High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years in facilities are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in facility maintenance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Knowledge of property maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up, delivery, collection, and return of Courier Bags for Facilities and Branch Personnel.
  • Handle daily USPS mail processes: pickup, packing, sorting, and drop-off at Post Office.
  • Prepare, sort, and distribute inter-office mail.
  • Deliver supplies to Bank personnel; complete courier and supply runs timely and safely.
  • Perform routine property maintenance; assist Facilities Coordinator with orders and stock.
  • Perform limited electrical maintenance (fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, fuses).
  • Perform limited plumbing maintenance (drains, leaks, lines).
  • Perform limited painting, carpentry and masonry (surfaces, doors, locks).
  • Reconfigure and remount modular offices and space as needed; move furniture and lighting.
  • Paint surfaces to preserve wood/metal parts; maintain safe working environment.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas; uphold appearance and safety standards.
  • Assist Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician on projects.

Job description

Essential Functions
  • Serve as Primary for pick up, delivery, collection, and return of Courier Bags that are prepared by both the Facilities Department Personnel and Bank Branch Personnel.
  • Serve as Primary to daily process USPS mail by picking up, packing, unpacking, sorting and dropping off at Post Office.
  • Serve as Primary contact to prepare, sort, and distribute inter-office mail.
  • Deliver supplies requested by Bank Personnel and prepared for delivery by Facilities Department Personnel; complete courier and supply runs in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Provide routine property maintenance and repairs bank wide as directed; work with Facilities Coordinator to order building and office supplies for Perkasie Admin; keep departmental supply area stocked and in order; complete tasks assigned by Facility Help Desk as required.
  • Perform limited electrical maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of fixtures such as wall switches, outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate tools.
  • Perform limited plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers, etc.).
  • Perform limited painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g., preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, roller to apply paints, stains, varnishes; hanging doors; fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs using hand, power, and specialty tools, dollies, and hand trucks.
  • Prepare the surfaces and paint various structures and equipment (walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas as needed to ensure appropriate physical appearance and safety standards.
  • Assist Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician with projects as needed; other duties as directed or assigned.

Relationships and Contacts

Internal: Reports to Director of Building Operations and Planning; frequent contact with various team members throughout the organization.

External: Contact with vendors and contractors as needed.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. 1–2 years’ experience in facility maintenance preferred. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Knowledge of property maintenance best practices.

Working Conditions

Traditional office environment with frequent travel required; office operates five days a week (Monday – Friday) with operational hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm (or manager-agreed schedule). Be available to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends as needed.
