Job description

About Torus Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world’s first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

About The Role

The Facilities Project Manager will bring structure, visibility, and execution discipline to Torus’s facilities and infrastructure work. This role will lead complex facilities projects across our Salt Lake GigaOne Headquarters and South Salt Lake sites, including equipment installs, infrastructure upgrades, utilities coordination, and manufacturing support initiatives. You will partner closely with facilities, fabrication, engineering, production, and leadership teams to evaluate project needs, align stakeholders, and build clear execution plans. This role is critical to helping Torus scale manufacturing responsibly by improving planning, reducing reactive work, and ensuring facility resources can support business priorities.

Who You Are
  • You bring order to fast-moving, ambiguous environments and know how to create structure without slowing teams down.
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • You communicate clearly with stakeholders at every level, from technicians and engineers to C-suite leaders.
  • You are comfortable operating in a hands-on industrial environment and can work across facilities, manufacturing, and engineering functions.
  • You are confident driving follow-through, facilitating reviews, and keeping teams aligned on scope, timing, and priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead facilities and infrastructure projects from planning through execution, including manufacturing equipment installs, utilities upgrades, facility improvements, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain project plans, schedules, action trackers, and stakeholder updates using Jira or equivalent project management tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to assess facility readiness, resource needs, risks, and project dependencies before work begins.
  • Drive project review and gate review processes to ensure new work is feasible, properly planned, and aligned with facility capability and business priorities.
  • Support capital projects by helping define scope, milestones, budgets, internal resource needs, and timing constraints.
  • Partner with facilities and engineering subject matter experts on infrastructure systems such as mechanical utilities, piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, and equipment integration.
  • Manage communication and follow-ups across Slack, meetings, and project documentation to ensure decisions and next steps are visible and actionable.
  • Present project status, constraints, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Help establish scalable project management processes that reduce reactive work and improve execution across facilities.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience
  • PMP certification required.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, facilities, construction, or infrastructure-heavy environments.
  • Experience managing projects involving facility buildouts, heavy equipment installs, OEM coordination, or infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience managing projects in the $1M–$10M+ range.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management systems such as Jira or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively across technical and executive audiences.
  • Familiarity with industrial systems and terminology, including mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and equipment installation requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing, fabrication, facilities expansion, or production-support environments.
  • Experience supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT), equipment validation, and OEM/vendor coordination.
  • Experience with strategic facility initiatives such as utilities upgrades, fluid systems, storage infrastructure, or manufacturing line support.
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments where processes are still being built.
  • Ability to support or mentor junior project coordinators, interns, or junior PMs as the team grows.
